{"id":2962,"date":"2026-02-13T20:28:11","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T20:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shailiza.com\/blog\/?p=2962"},"modified":"2026-02-14T17:55:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-14T17:55:29","slug":"nepal-tripping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/shailiza.com\/blog\/travelogue\/nepal-tripping\/","title":{"rendered":"Nepal Tripping"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One of the highlights of 2025 was travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We took our first trip to Europe with a visit to London, and locally enjoyed some amazing getaways to the beaches of North Carolina, and even made it to the Wisconsin Dells, where we stayed at my cousin\u2019s place and had a blast with all the water activities. Added in our regular trip to Chicago, and topped it all off with a trip back home to Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back, 2025 from a travel standpoint was incredible. I\u2019ve been making more frequent trips to Kathmandu, and honestly, most of the time, as soon as I arrive, I\u2019m ready to leave. This time felt different. I really wanted to take a road trip outside of Kathmandu, and I think that alone changed everything. I enjoyed this trip thoroughly. We didn\u2019t go very far, but hey, Kurintar wasn\u2019t so bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few things that impressed me:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1206\" height=\"658\" src=\"http:\/\/shailiza.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/CE1DA7B9-4764-4842-A881-794D1FC22D19.jpeg\" alt=\"Tunnel\" class=\"wp-image-2965 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>I got to witness the big new tunnel from a far.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Electric cars are taking off in Nepal, charging stations seem to be everywhere.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"524\" height=\"553\" src=\"http:\/\/shailiza.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/B95D3A6D-881B-4638-8692-02EC0719F420.jpeg\" alt=\"Charging station\" class=\"wp-image-2968 size-full\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"http:\/\/shailiza.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/barasinghe1.jpeg\" alt=\"Barahsinghe\" class=\"wp-image-2984 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Barahsinghe brewery in Kurintar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was a quite a a hip and happening venue, especially for being in a middle of nowehere. Or maybe that was the whole point, to attract people looking to escape the urban jungle and unwind in the middle of nature.
